What is your opinion about reaching out to recruiters or HR personnel on LinkedIn?
I have been trying to land a job at a studio or network. I want to work in TV development yet I can never seem to land a job doing that.
It’s definitely not a bad idea. Corporate types tend to use LinkedIn more than production people. Most everyone I know has a LinkedIn account, but very few actually use it.
Read this guest post about how you should approach them. Don’t just ask for a job. Ask them to join you for lunch, coffee, or drinks, learn a bit about them.
Also reach out to development assistants. They got that job somehow. Maybe they can show you.
Lastly, I recommend checking out Temp Diaries; Temp X has more of a focus on studio jobs than I do.
