Holy crap, you guys! Somewhere between a hundred and two hundred are going to the TAPA readers’ convention{{1}} on Sunday!
The official start time is 2:00pm, but I see no reason everyone should arrive right on time. I mean, seriously, you won’t even fit through the door if 200 people show up at the same time.
With that many people, I imagine this will turn into an all-day affair. Which is good news for Residuals! (Less good for The Federal.)
Also because of the crowd, it’s going to be pretty hectic for the bartenders. Remember to tip well.{{2}} I know you’re an assistant and make almost no money, but neither do they.
Don’t go in there expecting to find someone who will hire you for your next job. Everyone else is in the same position as you. You’re there to make friends, create relationships, and have fun. Shop talk is okay (after all, we only have one business to mind), but please do not bring your resume.{{3}}
There is some chance that unsuspecting bystanders will get caught up in the throng of PAs. I’ll put out special name tags for attendees. My gift to you.
Lastly, take plenty of pictures! If you share them on Facebook and Twitter, along with the #TAPArty, there might be a special surprise in it for you.
[[1]]With that many people, I’m pretty sure it’s officially a convention.[[1]]
[[2]]Especially Eric. He helped me arrange this whole thing.[[2]]
[[3]]Business cards are okay.[[3]]
