I’m balancing my petty cash today. I’m supposed to do it on Fridays, but… Well, there’s no way to finish that sentence. I just didn’t do it.
Whenever I turn in my envelope, the accountants are always surprised at how little change I have. This is because, in general, I try to spend exact change.
I always take three quarters, two dimes, a nickle, and four pennies with me. You can make any fraction of a dollar (other than a a bit) with these coins.
The only thing nerdier than this is the fact that I learned it from an Encyclopedia Brown book.

I do that too, just not all the time. Maybe I did get it from an Encyclopedia Brown book. I did read one or more when I was very young.
And why the hell is my old avatar showing up here?
I loathe doing my petty cash. I usually have a float between $1000 and $2000 and I still manage to go “out of pocket” before I get around to it.
